Event Review - Sherbet Angel Boutique High Tea

Elegance, relaxation and a hint of fun. These words described my Friday (6th November 2015 ) late afternoon at the Sherbet Angel salon and boutique in Parkhurst.

4 years ago, the lovely duo Lisa Rautenbach and her mom Joanne, began this sanctity for pregnant ladies. A place where you can relax and have a treatment whether it's a facial, manicure, pedicure or a massage.

This relationship between therapist and pregnant mom blossomed into a journey beyond the 9 months so even after giving birth, you are welcome or able to continue with your treatments. The treatments are for men as well as Tweens and Teens, making Sherbet Angel Boutique accessible to any age and gender.

Meg, from mio skin care or previously known as mama mio (Poise Brands) came together with sherbet angel to host this lovely high tea set outside the salon in the bustling city streets.

Even though 4th avenue is ablaze with people and cars, once you enter the doors of the salon, you feel transported into a haven as I had the personal experience.

I arrived quite early for the tea ( I'm not saying it's because I wanted to get away from my kid for longer! ) and was escorted to an outside lounging area given my choice of drink and some magazines. I felt so serene and at peace, I almost fell asleep and they had to call me to eat!

As I stepped outside to where the event was held, I took in the beautifully arranged decor, the scenery, the eats which included decadent brownies, a scrumptious looking Japanese cheesecake as well as a healthy option of fruits, quiche, carrot cake and sandwiches that were available to us.

The host was extremely friendly and went out of her way to make sure that each one of us were comfortable and enjoying ourselves.

The list of speakers were Chris Forrest, a comedian and Masterchef Winner, Meg from Mio Skincare, and Gouwa from Moms and Babes Greenside. Thereafter, they held a lucky draw to give away cool prizes.

After Lisa's story of the background that is now Sherbet Angel Spa and Boutique, Chris gave his insight and experience of fatherhood. He was accompanied by his lovely glowing and pregnant wife, Tabitha.

Meg offered her advice that assists one while pregnant as well as assisting in our post-pregnancy bodies. She mentioned all the things that people 'don't' help us with as many take for granted that we should already know such as "why is my skin itching?" "Why have my boobs gone up a few sizes?". To help with the stretch marks, she had also included a product for us all to take home, in our goodie bag. Her pearls of wisdom, I believe every mom should know: "Take care of yourself first, before you take care of baby. Give yourself the ability to know - 9 months to grow, 9 months to go."

Gouwa from Moms and Babes in Greenside enlightened us on why stimulating our little ones are important and she had also gifted us with fun and educational toys for our babies, included in our goodie bags.
With her experience, She believes that Moms and Babes creates the right environment not only to help baby reach his or her milestones, but also for moms as well since they (in the group) recognize and identify the way you feel as a first time mom. Often as a new mom we're overwhelmed and not everyone has the assistance and that's why Moms and Babes acts as a support and a life guide.

With all of the helpful advice that was made available along with the delicious eats, the High Tea hosted at Sherbet Angel really served as a delightfully informative and relaxing way to spend a Friday evening. I will definitely book my next beauty or massage appointment at this Salon !
