We will NEVER tell you to click a link!
Lately, we've been seeing a lot scammers trying to well, scam people who enter competitions.
They will duplicate the page that is running the competition (in some way) and then message a person or people who've entered the competition to tell them that they are a winner.
They will then ask the person to click a link to enter their details in order to claim their prize.
In a quick glance, it may look legit, but if you notice carefully, you may be able to spot some giveaway signs.
We almost fell victim to a scam.
(We enter competitions as well 😊 )
One particular competition said that entries for the competition was until the end of October. It was a week before the date, and someone had left me a message on the shared post to say that I'm a winner and I should check out the page or something - check details here.
I informed the (real) business running the competition that this was happening and how I figured out that they're wrong.
A few days ago, I noticed another business's page had to post a notice to say that there had been scammers.
Hence this notification to all in the event that someone decides to do this.

If you are a iloveza.com winner, we will try to get hold of you via the platform you enter and ask you to email us your details at howzit@iloveza.com - our email address.
-It may be safe to compose a new email instead of clicking on the email address eritten
- Should you choose to click on any email address, move your cursor over the email address, and the link to will show at the bottom of the page. This way you can see if it's the correct link (place ) it needs to go to!
- check the profile that sent you that message. Notice any spelling errors, grammatical errors, anything that may seem concerning.
We are quite particular, so spelling and/or grammatical errors - would not be here... haha I don't know how to end this.
If you mistakenly clicked on the link, quickly check the url and notice if it has https (a secure website has one s at the end) and if it's by us https://www.iloveza.com (and whatever the competition is)

And most importantly and this is just speaking for us as we won't know how other people/businesses/ brands run their competitions
But we are people actual human beings who have been running competitions for awhile
We know the ones who just enter but do nothing else. We know those who start following just before a competition and even though they may share a post many times they never engage with us by liking commenting or sharing other posts
We know the ones who will follow just before and then unfollow straight after a competition.
We keep track of those who have been loyal.
We are aware of who looks at our stories and who looks at our feed posts and who actually engages with us
We also value loyalty.
