2024/25 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship: R3 & R4, Jeddah, 14/15 February
Jaguar TCS Racing is third in the Teams’ World Championship heading into Rounds 3 and 4 of the 2024/25 ABB FIA Formula E season in Saudi Arabia.
Mitch Evans sits joint-second in the Drivers’ standings after the opening two rounds, while despite two positive performances so far Nick Cassidy is in P18. Jaguar is also third in the Manufacturers’ World Championship.
This weekend’s double-header marks the first time Formula E has raced in Jeddah, with both rounds to take place at the 3km Jeddah Corniche Circuit. The team has tasted previous success in Saudi Arabia with two victories, including Nick’s debut win for Jaguar TCS Racing last season in Diriyah.
The second race of the Jeddah E-Prix will also be the first time Pit Boost – a 10% energy increase via a mandatory 30-second, 600kW charge in the pitlane – will be deployed in Formula E. Jamie Chadwick will also drive for the team in the Rookie Free Practice session, designed for Rookie drivers, at the Jeddah E-Prix on Thursday, 13 February.
The 2025 Jeddah E-Prix starts at 17:05 AST (GMT +3 hours).
James Barclay, Jaguar TCS Racing Team Principal: “There has been plenty to reflect and work on since the last round in Mexico City. The whole team is hugely motivated for a strong performance in Jeddah, and racing at this new Formula E track is an exciting prospect for us. Mitch and Nick have driven really well so far this season and will be focused on optimising the performance of the Jaguar I-TYPE 7.
“A double-header means there are plenty of opportunities to score big points, while the debut of Pit Boost adds another variable into the mix. The return of mandatory pitstops is going to add another extra layer of strategy and unpredictability to Formula E, but we have worked hard as a team to ensure we are well prepared.”
Jaguar TCS Racing driver Mitch Evans, #9: “Racing at any new venue always presents new challenges to overcome, but I am looking forward to getting out on track in Jeddah. It was an unfortunate ending for us in Mexico, but we’ve regrouped as a team since then, and the aim is to deliver some strong performances across both races.”
Jaguar TCS Racing driver Nick Cassidy, #37: “We have put in a lot of hard work since Mexico and hopefully we can translate that into some strong results in Jeddah. I have happy memories of racing in Saudi Arabia for Jaguar TCS Racing, including taking my first win with the team, so it would be great to continue that.”
