Goodyear ultra-low noise tyres chosen by Audi to equip all-new Q6 e-tron
Goodyear tyres have been chosen as original equipment (OE) fitments on the brand-new Audi Q6 e-tron, the German automaker’s new fully electric premium SUV.
Goodyear developed its range of summer and winter tyres with a specific focus on suiting the characteristics of the Audi electric SUV, incorporating technology that reduces road noise.
Goodyear’s Audi Q6 e-tron fitments come from its Eagle F1 Asymmetric and UltraGrip ranges for summer and winter applications, respectively. The approved fitments will fit multiple trim levels, with Goodyear’s SKUs ranging from 18” to 21”. Goodyear collaborated closely with Audi throughout the modelling and testing phases of tyre development, resulting in fitments specifically tailored to enhance the vehicle’s performance.
The new Q6 e-tron was required to meet specific exterior noise standards in order to achieve homologation to new regulations that mandated a reduction of 2 dB1. This necessitated tyre development that lowered road noise. Goodyear supported Audi’s targets by tailoring the tread design and tuning the construction of the OE tyres.
Furthermore, Goodyear developed specific tyre specifications for each axle, allowing the performance characteristics of each to be tuned individually and resulting in excellent cornering stability and handling behaviour.

These OE fitments build on Goodyear’s established relationship with Audi on electric vehicles, having previously equipped the e-tron GT quattro and RS e-tron GT2.

(1) Starting July 1st, 2024, new vehicles need to comply with the Phase 3 limits of 68 dB(A) under UN Reg 51.03 (Power to Mass Ratio < 120 kW/ton). This limit is 2 dB(A) lower compared to the current limit of 70 dB(A).
