LLumar Films Introduces First Ever National Window Tinting Competition!
The race is on to find the best LLumar automotive window film installer in the country in the first ever LLumar South Africa National Tinting Competition!
LLumar Films is part of the PG Group and the sole distributor and premier supplier of LLumar high-performance window films in Southern Africa. The company supplies a complete solution with the largest range of solar control, safety, decorative and energy saving window film in Southern Africa for both the automotive and architectural markets.
According to LLumar General Manager, Steven Lurie, the objective of the competition is not only to find the very best LLumar window film installer in the country, but also to recognise and showcase the extremely high standards of quality that LLumar ‘smash and grab’ film installers demonstrate.
“We are extremely excited about this competition, because not only is it the first ever LLumar Window Tinting Competition, but we believe it is the first time such a competition has ever been held in South Africa,”
explained Lurie.
With regional assessments now complete, it has become clear that there is a huge pool of talent throughout the country, according to Jimmy Herron, LLumar’s Automotive Specialist.
“We’re currently tallying and auditing scores and the 10 finalists and will be announced shortly,”
said Herron.
“Competition amongst the fitters was extremely fierce, with less than 8 points separating the top 10 throughout the regional assessments,”
he added.
Donovan Taylor, Technical Manager for LLumar South Africa, highlighted that one of the most interesting and beneficial aspects of the competition was the response from the Fitment centre owners.
“They have noticed a vast improvement from a housekeeping perspective and one of the really stand-out comments has been ‘I have not seen my tint area look so professional, clean and tidy for many years’,”
he said.
“What was also rewarding were the high spirits and banter among the installers! In all, everyone agreed that it has been a fantastic experience for everyone!”
The finals will be held at LLumar’s exhibition stand at the Festival of Motoring, located at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit, Johannesburg, on Saturday, 1 September 2018. It is anticipated that there will be a few nail-biting moments between contestants as they face off against one another!
The prize for the overall winner is a trip, as well as entry into The International Window Film Tint-Off™, which will be held from 27 – 29 September 2018 in San Antonio, Texas, USA. The International Window Film Tint-Off™ Automotive Division is the battle for the world’s greatest automotive tinter. Runners up will also walk off with a host of prizes, while the winner and runners up employers will also win a reward.
