The Like Ladder

The Like Ladder
Many of you have probably seen or heard of the ‘Like Ladder on Facebook.’
The way it works is; someone posts this picture (above) and businesses start commenting with a link to their page or a short profile about what they do below that picture.
The aim of the ladder is to grow businesses advertised, like for like. In other words: If I post a comment about my business, I should like all the business pages above my post. This means that anyone posting after me should essentially like my page.
Great concept, but in reality it doesn’t work. For the last month or so, we have done exactly what the above picture says, “Comment your page” and “like the other pages”. We have probably liked hundreds of pages, and I’m not being sarcastic but I can count on one hand how many people have liked our page.
Next time you see one of these posts, remember the ladder is already broken, so be careful how you climb up it.
