Camping and Caravanning is still the most cost effective means of accessing the magnificent diversity of KZN, where more and more people are discovering the freedom of packing a tent or caravan and getting on the road to discover Africa's more remote and exciting places, away from the trappings and complications of the modern world. Here you can get close to the natural world while creating your own comfort and experience.
For those who are contemplating their first caravanning adventure, give Gooderson resorts a bash as you won’t regret it.
To ensure a memorable camping holiday herewith some worthy tips to make the experience even more enjoyable.
First up, remember to do a checklist and make sure your car is roadworthy, have towing mirrors, a caravan jack and even a fire extinguisher. The journey is a slower one so take the time to enjoy the scenery and don’t rush it, remember you are now towing something that is the size of an African elephant – the caravan.
Be sure to also book your holiday in advance, especially during peak season. Other things to consider – always use the litter bins provided and remember to leave the site in the same condition you would like to find it.
Some other worthy tips for the beginner roadie adventurer include packing insect repellent, taking extra ground sheets especially in case of rain, packing some entertainment i.e. board games, cards, books to keep you and the kids busy if it’s raining and another one, bring a skottel as backup to make breakfast or brunch, so you don’t miss out on those bacon and egg breakfasts while camping.
Camping sites generally have lighting but it’s a very good idea to bring along your own – solar powered lanterns, flash lights and battery powered lights - and don’t forget that all important extension cable and double adapter plugs so you can charge the cell phones.
Lastly, we look forward to welcoming you at Gooderson Leisure for that perfect camping or caravanning experience which will make for a lifetime of family memories.
