Chef Deena confirmed as judge for Spice Master Cook-Off at Montecasino!
Chef Deena, from Masterchef SA-acclaim and Aarya Restaurant, has been confirmed as one of the judges for the Spice Master Cooking Competition taking place from 1pm on Saturday, 15 September, during the first annual Diwali India Lifestyle Festival at Montecasino.
The competition will see 10 entrants re-creating their favourite recipe using either mutton or chicken. The competition is being sponsored by BNagiah’s who are celebrating 100 years of business this year.
The first prize winner will walk away with a full lamb, R500 spice voucher and R2000 cash; second prize receives half a lamb, R300 spice voucher and R1000 in cash; and third prize with half a lamb, R200 spice voucher and R500 cash.
The competition chefs will be provided with aprons, caps, pots, spoon, spices and their ingredients. Prana have also come on board to sponsor the cash prizes as well as the mini stoves and fire extinguishers.
In order to enter, entrants must email their full names, ID number and contact details, as well as a list of ingredients and a description of what they would make to pr@mspublicity.co.za. The successful candidates will be contacted on Monday, 10 September.
Joining Deena on the judging panel will be Chef Kenny – the newly appointed Executive Chef from Aarya and Edward Chamberlain-Bell from JoziStyle.

The festival takes place from 7th to 16th September at the Outdoor Events Area at Montecasino in Fourways. Tickets are R30 per person, with children under 12 getting in for free.
