Coffee and Chocolate comes to Cape Town (WIN Tickets)

The Grand Daddy Hotel on the vibey Long Street was the setting for the Media launch of the upcoming Coffee and Chocolate Expo. I was temporarily transported to the late 1800’s with the charming interior and vintage lifts. The roof top was abuzz with personalities from various media platforms.
There was a video presentation on the forthcoming Coffee and Chocolate Expo which takes place in Cape Town at the Green Point stadium on the 24th and 25th September 2016. It promises to be jam packed with over 80 exciting Coffee & Chocolate products and specialists showcasing their talents with pairing, mixing and producing unusual creations, interesting mixers and sharing a variety of uses for chocolate and coffee.
Other specialty events at the Expo include:
●Mardi Gras Experience
- tantalize your taste buds and celebrate all things delicious and decadent!
●Steampunk Experience
-Coffee Theatre hosting the SA Barista Champion 2016.
●Daily News section
- A Chocolate Workshop, sponsored by Beyers Chocolates.
This event is certainly not to be missed; all coffee snobs and chocolate connoisseurs are in for a treat!!!
Back at the Grand Daddy hotel we were treated to a buffet of mocktails, coffees and finger foods; but it was the dessert that caught my eye...more on that in a bit.
The Grand Daddy hotel boasts stunning views of Cape Town and the glorious Table Mountain. Even more remarkable were the seven Airtrailers perched on the rooftop of the Hotel! Originally from the USA, the Airtrailers were recently renovated each depicting a small piece of South Africa. Classically shaped and finished in high polished aluminium, the trailers are fully furnished and serviced making for a unique and unforgettable experience.
After munching on some treats we were able to indulge in the masterpieces of flavoured Ice-cream filled macaroons. The mouth-watering desserts were products of Sugarlicious, a KZN company. Some of the flavours on offer were Mocha, Coconut, Bubblegum, Lemon Meringue, Nutella, and Cookies & Cream. These ice cream macaroons are positivley sinful, so take it from me, you are going to want to indulge in more than one of these. All in all it a fun filled experience, with great company that set the tone for an expo not be missed.
