Gerduan Kemp encourages listeners to fight for each other in latest single
Following the success of his previous release, Koffie in die kroeg, which has been streamed over 70 000 times in just two months, Gerduan Kemp is back in the spotlight with a brand-new single that will resonate with listeners of all ages.
ALLES TOT NOU is a dynamic country-rock song with a profound message about relationships and the importance of not giving up when challenges arise.
“When things get tough in a relationship, you need to fight for each other rather than against each other,” he explains about the concept behind this track, which he co-wrote with Emil Paul.
According to Kemp, the idea was born during the three years in which he released no new music. He shares: “During that time, I wondered if I would ever release music again. One day, as I sat by my piano, I realized once again how much music is a part of my life. Although the main theme of the song is love, for me personally, it represents how everything I’ve taken on in life up until now has brought me to the place where I can release this music and touch people’s hearts.”
Hugo Ludik of Muse Studios produced the song, while Gerduan – also a popular photographer and music video producer – took care of the single cover and directed and produced the music video.
“I wanted to commemorate the journey that led me to where I am now in my music career with a music video. I wanted to keep the video simple, but still do something that would add to the story of the song. It includes flashbacks of my previous music videos, with the old footage now creating a new narrative,” he says.
The video was filmed in his garage, where the cover photo was also taken.

ALLES TOT NOU is his sixth release, and his previous work has achieved great success, with his debut album already streamed over 2 million times on digital platforms.
Gerduan, who grew up in Bloemfontein and currently lives in Pretoria, has been passionate about music since his school days. He has shared the stage with some of the country’s biggest artists and has performed at various Afrikaans music festivals. He is especially known for hits like Sesde Sintuig, Langpad na Môre and Jou Tipe Jaloers.
Aside from music, he is also an outstanding photographer and music video producer with his own business, Gerduan Kemp Photo & Film, which has headed up music video projects for several well-known artists, including Brendan Peyper and Karlien van Jaarsveld.
He is currently working on another new song, set to be released in December, which he is very excited about.
ALLES TOT NOU is a special track that hides the titles of the songs from Kemp’s debut album within its lyrics. “I used the titles on my album to write this song, with the theme that you need to fight for the person you love so that you don’t let them slip through your fingers.”
Given the success that the album and previous singles have achieved so far, his latest creation is bound to be a hit.
“There are so many people who can relate to this theme, and I believe that listeners will resonate with the story told in the song,” he concludes.
