Owners, Paul Lynch and David Hurr, who purchased the land as a farm, fell in love with the landscape and its grand beauty, often using the original lodge for a weekend escape. They soon realised that this magical African kingdom deserved to be shared with others. They had a vision of guests standing on the deck looking out to the unparalleled views of the surrounding nature, which made them feel as if they were part of something extraordinary and so, Inzolo Exclusive Game Lodge was born.
“This all happened at the right time in the right place. We are extremely excited to have just unveiled the final product. In our opinion, what makes Inzolo Lodge so special, besides the setting, is its exclusivity. When visiting Africa, you need peace and quiet to truly capture what a day in the African Bush feels like,” says Paul Lynch.
Paul and David, together with the team on the ground, are passionate about and committed to the conservation and sustainability of the land as well as supporting the local community. Hunting is not allowed on the farm, and the lodge has successfully launched two special conservation initiatives – The interactive Buffalo breeding project and the protection of the endangered Cape Mountain Zebra. Guests are invited to help dart the buffalo in order for the conservation team to test for TB and other related diseases. Inzolo has also set up a protected enclave for The Cape Mountain Zebra to live and breed in. The rangers will often take guests to this protected area to witness the beauty of these wonderful African animals.
