ClassicsNOW, in collaboration with Brooklyn Theatre, is pleased to present its inaugural plein-air opera performance:
Mozart's 'Don Giovanni'
in the amphitheatre of the NIROX Sculpture Park, Cradle of Humankind on Saturday 28 January 2017.
'Don Giovanni', is based on the legend of Don Juan - a fictional libertine and seducer.
Premiered by the Prague Italian opera in 1787, this ever-popular work has become a staple of operatic repertoires worldwide.
Mozart described it as an opera buffa, seamlessly blending comedy, melodrama and supernatural elements.

The opera will commence at 4pm but guests are welcome to arrive at the Sculpture Park from 1pm to take lunch in the park and meander through the glorious waterways, lawns and arbors populated with monumental contemporary sculptures.
Cuisine and beverages on offer will be curated by the Epicurean Emporium – a collective of high-end food traders who are the mainstay of NIROX's well established concert programme.
'Don Giovanni' is presented in collaboration with Brooklyn Theatre as a part of the Johannesburg International Mozart Festival 2017.

Tickets are for sale at R300 per person online and R320 at the gate.
Children under 12 pay half-price.
