#ParoozTakesParkhurst
Johannesburg, 02 December 2016
In 2012, young entrepreneur, Roxy Ferreira began a life long dream of hers; to start her very own fashion label, Parooz Fashions.
With a number of fashion retailers in the country, Roxy could still never find the kind of fashionable, trendy items she was after. Another protest Roxy had with the South African fashion scene, was that anything super cool, unique or exclusive came with a huge price tag and wasn’t accessible to the average girl. The Parooz vision was to create a destination that offered cool clothing, something that hadn’t yet been seen in South Africa, that remained exclusive but always affordable.
Parooz started by doing pop-up shops all over Joburg and in 2012, the very first Parooz Fashions store opened at 70 Juta Street, Braamfontein. Braam has such a great buzz about it and the Parooz brand fitted in with the area just perfectly. In 2015, the Parooz online store launched and has seen amazing success so far. Now Parooz has officially opened their second store in Parkhurst. A unique brand that owner Roxy feels has always suited special neighbourhoods as opposed to large shopping malls.
“Our Parkhurst store envisions everything that we are about and I can’t wait our future here”, says Roxy.
The vision for the Parooz space was to create somewhere that girls could come and feel like they were coming to try on clothes at their best friends’ house, and offer a cool, friendly, awesome shopping experience was super important.
“I was always super inspired by the buzz of the city I live in, Joburg, and the fun inspiring people I meet and come into contact with every day”, says owner Roxy Ferreira.
Parooz is about being young and having fun with fashion, it’s about being a individual and showing your individuality through the clothes you wear and the fashion statements you make.
