Reddam House Waterfall presents Footloose
The 1984 Hit Musical, Footloose, is brought to life by the talented scholars of Reddam House Waterfall
Footloose, the American Musical Drama directed by Herbert Ross, is set in the small, religious town of Bomont, where rules are adhered to and Bomont's main rule is not to dance, sing, or basically have any fun!
Enter Ren, the new kid from the big city of Chicago, whose entire world revolves around dance and music. His passion leads him to stand up against the town council to change their motives and shake things up in this conservative town.
Footloose has been nominated for 6 awards, most of which include Best Original Song as well as Best Family Motion Picture.
The Cultural Department of Reddam House Waterfall School chose to remake Footloose as they found it relatable to the children since they are around the same ages as the characters in the original production. With Shaye Garmany, the Drama Director partnered with Elma Dammann as the Musical Director and Jenna Fieldgate, the Choreographer, this show will have the audience toe-tapping and humming throughout the night!
"The most important thing for me, is for the students to have fun performing and the audience to enjoy the musical. The scholars have worked really hard since the beginning but they truly enjoy the characters that they play and the songs - even though they're from the 80's!" Shaye Garmany, Reddam House Waterfall Drama Director
Footloose will be performed at the George Balios Auditorium at Reddam House Waterfall School on the 9th, 10th & 11th May 2017 at 7pm
Tickets are available from the College Reception at Reddam House Waterfall.
