3 Days To Go
In a South African story with universal human themes, comedy-drama 3 Days To Go brings family realities home to roost. And where better to meet a unique South African family than in a Ster Kinekor theatre, surrounded by movie-loving South Africans!
The sudden death of a family patriarch sees his South African children return home to KZN – with their own families in tow – to scatter his ashes. Being back in the family home after many years brings a host of issues poignantly bubbling to the surface, as husbands, wives and grandchildren share, squabble and re-examine their complicated relationships.
The power of Ster-Kinekor surround sound brings the poignant dialogue and the soundtrack to life, with the crisp big-screen resolution bringing a touching human connection to every performance.
The movie marks the directorial debut of Bianca Isaac, who has produced iconic South African shows like Umlilo, Swartwater, Kruispad and Getroud Met Rugby, and also stars Bollywood star Lillete Dubey, Zakeeya Patel, Kajal Bagwandeen and Leeanda Reddy.

Matwetwe (Wizard)
From KZN, the setting moves to the ’kasi for action drama Matwetwe (Wizard). Edgy hustling and escapades, township-style, are the order of the day in this coming-of-age adventure following Lefa and Papi, best friends and recent high-school graduates, on the hustle of their young lives.
Only the unique sonic dynamics of a movie theatre could do the hip soundtrack justice, with its ska-influenced township grooves, hip-hop and house beats.
Over the course of one action-packed New Year’s Eve in the iconic Gauteng township of Atteridgeville, the boys try to make it big on one huge underworld deal, desperately fight to escape the clutches of a kingpin gangster and his violent minions… and still have a chance of getting the girl! Whether they manage to pull it off and ultimately emerge with their lives intact is the subject of this hilarious and sometimes very serious South African caper movie.
Written and directed by Kagiso Lediga of LNN and Pure Monate Show fame, Matwetwe stars Sibusiso Khwinana as Lefa and Tebatso Mashishi as Papi.

Dominee Tienie
From a township hustlers’ tale, the next January attraction is set in the heart of a South African congregation. Dominee Tienie is a powerful human drama of struggle, personal growth and redemption.
After 16 years as the priest of his denomination’s mother church, Tienie Benade faces a steep decline in the number of churchgoers and a modern society that is rapidly changing.
He is forced to ask himself whether clergymen, or even the church, still have a role to play in today’s world. In trying his best to adapt and make sense of the changes, he damages his relationship with his wife and children. After a dramatic incident with a dying vagrant, Reverend Tienie finds himself at a crossroads. How can he regain his self-confidence and win back the love of his family?
The sublime, nuanced performance by legendary South African actor Frank Opperman is brought to full fruition on the Ster-Kinekor big screen as the lead character battles his personal demons in crisp, larger-than-life resolution.
Based on the play by Dana Snyman, Dominee Tienie is directed by Salmon de Jager and stars Frank Opperman in the title role.
