Meet the youngest qualified medical doctors in South Africa
Meet South African Dr Thakgalo Thibela who enrolled for medicine at the age of 16 at Wits University, and today at age 21 has qualified with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery. She is the youngest female South African to qualify as a medical doctor.
Meet South African Dr Sandile Kubheka who at age 20 (in 2013) made African history by being the youngest person to qualify as a medical doctor on the continent. Dr Kubheka obtained his degree from the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal, and now at 28 he is currently a Internal Medicine Registrar at the University of Kwazulu-Natal (UKZN) , stationed at King Edward Hospital in Durban, South Africa.
