Halaal Breakfast Buffet every day of the week
Limoni Cafe/ Restaurant have a full Halaal Breakfast Buffet on offer, any day of the week.
I enjoy travelling and staying in different hotels, mostly to enjoy the breakfast buffet - because no one makes a better meal than someone other than yourself.
Sometimes I have a craving for a good Halaal breakfast buffet, but the options in Gauteng are very limited, and prices are not very affordable if you are not staying over at a particular establishment.
Limoni Cafe/ Restaurant located in the Qurtaba precinct in Linbro Park, Johannesburg has been around for sometime, but nothing has really caught my eye to sit down, and have a meal there.
Recently on our quest to find a new breakfast place to try, my wife - who incidently went through a very traumatic experience on the Qurtuba premises 2 years ago, suggested we visit Limoni Cafe/ Restaurant to see if there is anything new on their menu or any specials available.
I very hesitantly drove us there, mainly because traffic was backed up in the direction of my first choice.
Surprisingly there was a breakfast special which runs from Monday to Friday between 07h00 and 11h00.
The breakfast special includes:
- 2 sunny side eggs
- 2 sausages
- Creamy mushrooms
- Baked beans
- Grilled tomato
- Chips
- 1 Slice of toast
A hot beverage can be added to the meal at 25% less than the normal price.
This special is available only for dine-in customers at a price of R60 per meal.
My wife and son were sold, and I was almost, until I saw the main prize - the buffet station.
I might not list everything that was there, because there was quite a lot, and I was too busy enjoying everything to take notes but here goes:
Juice Bar included:
- Water
- Apple Juice
- Orange Juice
- Berry Juice
Hot Drinks station included:
- A selection of five roses teas (ceylon, rooibos, green)
- Hot chocolate
- Nescafe Classic coffee sachets (decaf included)
- White sugar
- Brown sugar
- Cremora
- Milk
- Urn for hot water
At the egg station you have a choice of:
- Scrambled
- Boiled (15 minutes waiting time)
- Fried
- Omelette
The omelette fillings were:
- Red and green peppers
- Cheese
- Red onion
- Mushrooms
- Chilli
- Tomato
- Coriander (dhania)
The fresh salad consisted of:
- Feta
- Cucumber
- Lettuce
- Olives
- Rosa tomotoes
- Red onion
Fresh fruits included:
- Apples
- Naartjies
- Pear
- Pineapple
- Red grapes
- Sweet green melon (Honeydew melon)
- Spanspek (Cantaloupe / Melon)
which could be paired with Plain or Strawberry yoghurt
A selection of dried fruit, raisins and sultanas, and dried banana are also available along side the muesli and cereals - All Bran Flakes and Corn Flakes
The Hot Food Selection has a wide variety:
- Mutton sausages
- Salt and pepper sausages
- Plain mushrooms
- Creamy mushrooms
- Baked beans
- Mince curry
- Chicken curry
- Garlic bread
- Potato curry
- Puri (fried bread)
- Channa curry (chickpea curry)
- Potato patti
- Cocktail kebabs
Lastly the baked station where the breads, jams, and butter are kept, also had some:
- Mini croissants
- Mini muffins
- Danish pastry
- Waffles which can be topped with fresh cream, honey, chocolate or rainbow sprinkles, and chocolate or golden syrup
I tried most of what was on display, and was quite impressed by the quality and freshness of everything.
The buffet meal costs R175 per adult, and children under 12 will be charged R115 each.
