Wait! I see Darth Vader, Spiderman, Fireman Sam and even Iron Man. Am I in some sort of Disney Land? But I'm sure I'm in the new Menlyn Shopping Centre. Then where is this?
It's the newest edition to the Hamleys' stores in South Africa and the 100th store worldwide, and they are celebrating in style.
Face painting, balloon making, all these characters brought to life, and of course toys, toys, and more toys. Toys waiting for us to play with, toys neatly on display, toys at reduced prices, it's TOY HEAVEN!!!
My son's first reaction was, "Oh Wow!" And for him to say those words he must see something amazing, and that is exactly what it was like being in the 100th Hamleys Store - Amazing!
He didn't waste any time and ran around with his little red balloon until he found the table with the Lego on it. He was at home, and in no hurry to leave. Every so often he would get up and dance when the music played and run around a bit to see the other toys, but always went back to the Lego.
He loves cars so he was very impressed when he saw the Hamleys little light up car on the track, and loved playing with the car at the entrance that would get picked up by crane then dropped onto a pad where it would bounce off.
It was an afternoon well spent with friendly staff, an awesome atmosphere, and of course my wonderful family.
