Constitution Hill is a global tourism attraction and living museum which tells the story of South Africa’s liberation struggle and the country’s journey to democracy. The immersive tour experience takes the visitor through several exhibitions that show the challenges of those who were incarcerated within it’s walls. The site once incarcerated freedom struggle heroes Nelson Mandela; Winnie Mandela; Albert Luthuli; Mahatma Gandhi and Fatima Meer. Their stories and experiences together with those of the ordinary prisoner are told through the voices of the passionate guides who make the visit so worthwhile.
Our Constitution states that South Africa “belongs to all who live in it, united in our diversity”. So what better destination to explore for a reminder of our heritage than Constitution Hill.
The ticket purchase is capped at 5 tickets per person per time slot and spaces are limited. Please note that in terms of our COVID protocols, each guide can only take 12 people at a time.
“We are excited to confirm the reopening of Constitution Hill on the 01 October 2020. Our guided tours inclusive of the iconic Constitutional Court will be available to the public with strict COVID-19 safety protocols in place,” says CEO Dawn Robertson.
