Jaguar I-PACE Brings Electric Performance to Monaco GP Circuit
Jaguar has taken to the Monaco Grand Prix circuit to showcase the performance and handling of its first electric vehicle (EV), the I-PACE.
Boasting 294kW and 696Nm from its twin electric motors, the I-PACE takes just 4.8 seconds to reach 100km/h. Allying sweeping straights with tight twists and turns, Monaco’s iconic harbour layout was perfect for the performance SUV’s secret late-night test.

The I-PACE has a state-of-the-art 90kWh Lithium-ion battery, with a total range of 480km (WLTP cycle), and is capable of charging from zero to 80 per cent in 40 minutes (100kW DC). With concept car looks and on-board artificial intelligence, the Jaguar I-PACE is the EV drivers have been waiting for.
The I-PACE has been developed with Panasonic Jaguar Racing’s FIA Formula E Championship expertise, and Jaguar has now created the world’s first production battery electric vehicle race series with a circuit-ready version of the I-PACE.
Starting at the end of 2018, to coincide with season five of Formula E, Jaguar Land Rover’s Special Vehicle Operations will supply a full grid of up to 20 I-PACE eTROPHY race cars for the unique series.
For season five it is also anticipated that the new Gen 2 Formula E cars will compete on the full Grand Prix circuit.
Not only is Monaco renowned the world over for its love affair with motorsport, it is also one of the world’s most progressive states when it comes to sustainability, with significant investment in renewable energy, electric bike and car sharing schemes for residents, and stringent monitoring of air quality.
