251 Afrika Jazz Band was formulated in Katlehong in January 2017. The Band consists of diverse unique band members, deriving from different ethnical backgrounds. 251 Afrika music style blends elements of South African music genres such as Kwela, Jazz, Blues and features African folk music. A fusion of syncopated Mbaqanga, the saxophopnes and trumpets of swaying African Jazz and voices in joyous easy harmony.

Simo Sibiya, Lunga Gubelana, Kgotso Maepho on Trumpet, Mpho Hlakudi on Lead Guitar, Sakhile Hlatshwayo and Themba Sibiya on Bass, Tumelo, Mahoa and Thabang Mashitisho on Piano, Tshwewu Tsotetsi on Percussion and Thato Moloi on Drums.
Niki’s Oasis Jazz Restaurant is the original Home of Jazz in Jozi! A Home away from home where sumptuous soul food is served.

About Concerts SA
Concerts SA is a joint South African/Norwegian live music development project housed within the SAMRO Foundation. Concerts SA receives financial, administrative and technical support from the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, SAMRO, the SAMRO Foundation and Concerts Norway. Working with musicians, promoters, venue owners and audiences, and providing support to the sector through research and skills development for music professionals, the project aims to build a vibrant and viable live music circuit in southern Africa. It also aims to develop an interest in and appreciation of live music by showcasing music performances and conducting workshops at schools.
